 NPC Children Centre, a project of Christ is The Answer Ministries Introduction The Centre story goes
way back to 1993 when one ordinary afternoon, the then Senior Pastor at
NPC Valley Road, Rev. Dennis White, drove into the church compound, his
car full of street urchins who he had collected from a hideout
(base as they call it) near The Nairobi Serena Hotel. That marked
the beginning of a feeding program/soup kitchen. Thereafter children
came every day, took a bath and fed and after a while the staff started
teaching them the word of God after which they went back home or to the
streets. They also started receiving a dinner pack (foodstuff) which
they carried home to share with the rest of the family. Soon enough,
word went round and the numbers kept growing every day. The church
integrated the program in its funds so that the children would not lack
anything. A cook and a teacher were employed to take care of the
children. The feeding program had continued for about one and
half years when the staff noticed there was a problem. The children got
new clothes every day they never came wearing what they had received
the previous day, and the dinner packs too, were not getting home,
items were being sold to innocent buyers because the children preferred
to have money in their pockets.  Caption missing The CentreNPC
Children Centre is located 47 kilometers away from Nairobi city centre,
just a few miles away from Kiserian town in Kajiado district. It was
established in 1995. By then it had become apparent that for any
meaningful transformation to be realized, the children had to be
removed from the all so familiar city centre to a place far away. The
Church Administration purchased a 50 acres piece of land and put up a
proper rehabilitation centre. On December 15th 1995, the first group
was re-located to the new premises. Intense rehabilitation commenced
immediately and over 10 years down the road the passion is the same if
not stronger. The centre houses street children, orphans and other
