The Nairobi Pentecostal Church Children's Centre is a project of Christ is the Answer Ministries, currently 'home' for 93 boys and girls. Its maximum capacity of 128 is expected to be filled in the next intake of children.
NPC Children Centre was established in 1994. Prior to that, CITAM had instituted a feeding programme for street children at its Valley Road assembly. However, it was soon discovered that as long as the children continued to live on the streets, the programme would not succeed. This led to a vision to set up a proper rehabilitation home away from the city center, hence the birth of the Children's Centre. Objectives of NPC Children Centre
- To minister the love of Christ mentally, physically and spiritually, to the underprivileged
- To establish a rehabilitation home based away from the city for street children aged 6-8.
- To provide the children with vocational training in technical skills and knowledge, so as to help them become self employed in tailoring and dressmaking, carpentry, farming, cookery, housekeeping, painting, art and crafts, and as domestic helpers and mechanics.
- To provide a basic education programme up to class 8, that should assist in their survival in the world of work and employment.
- To sponsor children who attain 300 out of 500 marks in KCPE to a secondary school education.
- To promote good health and prevent disease in the children
- To help the deviant children change in behaviour and become well adjusted members of society
- To provide Christian counselling and spiritual nurture to the children
