CITAM acquired Bluebells Primary from Handa Group of Schools in September 2005 and in an effort to redefine its identity immediately changed the name of the school to NPC Academy Buruburu School. Only a few of the former staff were retained as the academy attempted to develop a new character. As a result, the BOG embarked on a rigorous recruitment campaign that resulted in complement of 26, comprising:
> Headteacher – Mrs. Janerose Situma
> 20 faculty staff – 6 in Kindergarten and 16 in the Primary section
> A secretary
> An accountant
> A driver.
CITAM’s Management of the academy commenced in January 2006. The school has accomplished many achievements some of which include:
2009: Change of name of the school from Bluebells to NPCA – Buruburu Primary School and attaining a registration certificate to this effect in 2009.
2009: School’s partnership with other schools through Kenya Private Schools Association (2009).
Improved academic performance.
- Tremendous numerical growth whose current population is at over 500 pupils and with more still seeking for admission.
- Improved spiritual nourishment of pupils, teachers and parents through prayer breakfast and family worship.
- The creation of several clubs.
Increase and well-motivated pupils, faculty members and other para-academic staff.
Strong teacher/ parent partnership through the PTF.
Participation in different festivals such as Music and Drama, and Taekwondo tournaments up to the national level.
