There was pomp and colour as CITAM celebrated 60 years at CITAM Karen on 24th August 2019 where about 8,000 people gathered.
As early as 6 am, enthusiastic CITAM congregants began to flock into CITAM Karen grounds, quite upbeat, looking forward to be part of the historic and memorable celebrations.
The Presiding Bishop, Rev. Dr. David Oginde led the worshippers in thanking God for His faithfulness in the ministry. We were glad to have the President, the Deputy President, several Cabinet Secretaries and dignitaries.
The President congratulated CITAM for its achievement for marking 60 years of transforming the lives of many people. “Happy birthday CITAM.” The President said. “ CITAM’s diverse congregation is a representation of our nation.” He encouraged CITAM members to continue fellowshipping together in unity. “Those who pray, eat and laugh together have the ability to be great,” he said.
The Deputy President, His Excellency William Ruto, also accompanied the President. The Deputy President noted that it was a remarkable achievement for CITAM to celebrate 60 years. “CITAM is celebrating its 60th birthday during the census and this is similar to Jesus’ birth during a census,” he said.
Some of the congregants and members of the public were glad to be part of the celebrations. Ruth Murage said, “It was awesome and we were blessed to have the President, Deputy President and CS Fred Matiang’i and other government officials. Bishop delivered a powerful message. God bless CITAM and Kenya.”
Elizabeth Wanjau was glad to say, “It was such an auspicious time. We bless the Lord for his faithfulness.”
It was indeed a great time of celebration and we thank God for the far He has brought CITAM Ministry.
